All interested volunteers are required to attend a 30 minute training session to ensure proper safety basics, skater support techniques, and tips to ensure a fun, inclusive, and empowering experience for our adaptive skating athletes. Skating experience preferred but not required — bring a willing spirit and a warm heart! A Virtual TEAMS invite will be emailed after sign up. Three different training opportunities available.
Volunteer Expectations Include:
Gliding Stars of Central Florida, Inc. (“Gliding Stars”) is committed to creating a safe and positive environment for athletes physical, emotional and social development while providing basic ice skating skills and techniques in a one-to-one setting.
* 14-16 sessions on or off ice for a 2 hour timeframe 3:30pm-5:00pm most Sundays
(a minimum of 6-8 volunteer sessions are required)
* Adherence of all Orlando Ice Den Skate facility rules
