Week 2 of Shooting Stars kept the momentum going with energy, focus, and growing confidence on the ice. Our athletes built on the fundamentals from week one and took things up a notch with speed, control, and decision-making.
Station 1 was all about speed and fast breaks. Athletes pushed themselves to skate faster while maintaining control of blue pucks and rings, learning how to balance quick movement with puck handling. Tight turns around cones challenged agility, and it was great to see athletes gaining confidence as they accelerated back down the ice.
At Station 2, the focus shifted to wide turns and navigating obstacles. Using black pucks, athletes worked through a maze of pads, practicing control while making smooth, wide turns. After regaining composure, they took a shot on goal and immediately transitioned into a sprint down the alley, reinforcing both endurance and game-like flow.
Station 3 brought it all together with tight turns and shooting. Athletes weaved through tires, maintained close puck control, and finished with a controlled shot on goal. The quick transition back to Station 2 kept everyone moving and engaged, building stamina and reinforcing continuous play.
Week 2 showed real progress—not just in skills, but in confidence, teamwork, and determination. The athletes are beginning to connect the pieces, and it’s exciting to watch their growth as we head into the next session.
